Getting Started with Our RESTful API
Use this guide to quickly find your API key and get started with the Genius Referrals RESTful API.
Please Note: RESTful API are only available on certain Genius Referrals plans. See our plans and pricing here.
1. Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
✅ An active Genius Referrals account
You must be registered and logged in to access your API credentials.
✅ Access permissions
Only Admin users can view the API key.
If you don’t see the API Access option, contact your account administrator.

2. How to Locate Your API Key
Follow these steps inside the Genius Referrals dashboard:
- Log in: Sign in to your Genius Referrals dashboard.
- Go to your profile: In the top-left corner, click your name to open the profile menu.
- Select “API Access”: Click API Access to open the API credentials page.
- Copy your API key: Your API key appears on this page. Copy it — you’ll use this key to authenticate all your API requests.
3. Your API Key & Security
Your API key grants full program access. For best security:
- Do not share it publicly or via email.
- Do not expose it in client-side code (JavaScript, mobile apps).
- Rotate/regenerate if you believe it has been compromised.
- Store it securely (environment variables, vaults, etc.).
4. Ready to integrate?
Once you have your API key, you can start using our RESTful API.
